COMMON QUESTIONS
Everything people ask before they come in.
If your question is not here, call the practice and ask it. We would rather answer it now than have you wonder about it in the chair.
New Patients
You are seen for a comprehensive examination rather than a quick look. We review your medical and dental history, examine the teeth and soft tissue, screen for oral cancer, assess your bite, take the imaging we need, and then sit down and talk through what we found.
Often yes, and we plan for it. If your gum health suggests a different kind of cleaning is more appropriate, we explain why before anything begins rather than changing the plan while you are in the chair.
A photo ID, your insurance card if you have coverage, and a current list of your medications including dosages. If you have had recent imaging elsewhere, bringing it can save you a repeat.
Yes. The new patient forms can be downloaded, completed at home and brought with you. Doing it in advance means your appointment starts on time and you spend the extra minutes talking rather than writing.
We are. Call the practice or send an appointment request and we will find a time that works, including the earliest opening if you are in discomfort.
We see families, and children are welcome for routine hygiene and examinations. If a child needs care that is better handled by a pediatric specialist, we say so and help you get there.
Treatment
No, and you are in good company. We start where you are, deal with anything urgent first, and then set out the rest in an order that makes sense to you.
Tell us at scheduling so we can plan the visit around it. We explain each step before it happens, stop whenever you ask, and keep the pace under your control.
Most of it stays in this building, from the planning through to the final restoration. If a case calls for a colleague with different training, we tell you why and coordinate the referral ourselves.
We look at the whole mouth rather than one tooth, then discuss what needs attention now, what can be watched, and what happens if you wait. Nothing gets scheduled until you have heard the options and agreed to one.
Call the practice. We keep room in the schedule for urgent problems and will get you seen, or advise you over the phone if that is the safer first step.
Yes, and it is a common reason people come in. We assess whether existing work is still sealing and supporting the tooth, and we replace it when it is no longer doing its job.
Insurance and Cost
All PPO insurance is accepted. Give us your plan details at scheduling and we will verify your benefits before the first appointment.
We file claims on your behalf as a courtesy. You are welcome to ask us where a claim stands at any point.
You get a written estimate before treatment is scheduled. Because insurance policies vary, we can estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee it.
CareCredit is available, and we also offer an in office financing plan for uninsured patients that reduces the cost of certain procedures. Ask us at scheduling and we will explain both.
Cash, card and check are all accepted. If a plan is being paid over time, we set the schedule out in writing before treatment starts.
The Practice
That is the intention, and the same goes for your hygienist. Continuity is how small changes get noticed early.
The practice is on Route 22 East in Whitehouse Station, set back from the road, with parking directly at the door. The building is on one level.
We are open Monday through Thursday from eight in the morning until six in the evening, and Friday from eight until two. Hours are listed in full on the contact page.
This is one of four New Jersey practices built by Dr. Brian Marino and his wife Kristen. Each location is run to the same standard, with its own team on site.

We would like to meet you.
